Deborah B.
Nussbaum joined the Downey McGrath Group, Inc. in November 2006 as a Vice President. At Downey McGrath she advises clients on a range of federal government affairs and public policy issues.
Prior to joining Downey McGrath, Deborah worked as a project manager for the United States Army Corps of Engineers’ New York District. At the Corps of Engineers Deborah was responsible for helping to manage several coastal and environmental restoration projects, including the Jamaica Bay Marsh Islands in New York City and the Lower Passaic River in New Jersey. For her work on restoring the Jamaica Bay Marsh Islands Deborah was awarded a Certificate of Achievement from the Commanding Colonel. |

From 2002 through 2004, Deborah served as a legislative aide for U. S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, specializing in New York State based appropriations work. In this capacity, Deborah spent time meeting with elected officials, hospitals, universities and other non- profits throughout the state and worked with various federal agencies on projects that impacted the state.
Before her work on Capitol Hill, Deborah spent several years at the New York City Council. During her time there she rose to the position of Chief of Staff to the Chair of the Small Business, Retail and Emerging Technology Sub-Committee. She also spent two years working with the Speaker of the New York City Council as both a legislative aide and a liaison to community leaders throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Deborah is originally from Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from the New School for Social Research in New York City with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies. |
